CTP 4 Online Field Test - Registration Open!!
August 1, 2008
Over the past year ERB has been working with Educational Testing Service (ETS) to create a computerized version of the CTP4 tests. We are now piloting the prototype computerized test. In creating a computerized test, it is very important to establish that student results are comparable to paper-and-pencil testing. Piloting allows ERB and ETS to gather data needed to determine that scores earned from online testing are comparable to scores from paper-and-pencil testing.
We are looking for schools both inside and outside the ERB network to participate in the pilot. As a school outside the network, you have the opportunity to volunteer students in grades 2 through 11 to take the CTP4 tests in mathematics and verbal skills appropriate to their grade level. Half of these students will test online, and half will test in the paper-and-pencil format. The testing window will run from right after Labor Day 2008, through December 15, 2008.
Schools that sign up the first 500 students per level for this pilot will receive a $20 per pupil incentive. For your school to be eligible, each student signed up must take every test within that student’s level. As mentioned above, half the students in each grade level (classroom) tested must take the CTP4 online and half must take the paper-and-pencil test. Schools can decide how many students within each grade will participate in the pilot. It could be as few as one classroom.
Register today and receive all the information you need to schedule and administer the tests in online or paper-and-pencil format. You may e-mail ERB with any additional questions or concerns, or visit our FAQs page for more information.
Association Norms Expansion
One of the CTP 4’s most unique offerings is the Association Norm. Schools in member associations such as NAIS, CAIS, PNAIS, ACCS, and others can now compare their students’ scores to those in other schools in similar associations. Executive Directors of any member associations simply need to provide an updated member roster (school, city, and state only) to Christine Phelan (cphelan@erbtest.org)
